The goal of hydrologic science is to understand and predict the fluxes and storages of water over a range of space and time scales. Such understanding also is necessary to comprehend and predict fluxes and storages of sediments and solutes and to evaluate . HydroLIT (short for hydrologic literacy) highlights the relationship between the quality of regional water resources—streams, rivers, lakes, reservoirs and groundwater—and urban, suburban and rural systems and proposes innovative water quality improvement strategies to inform future planning in the region. The book is a result of an HydroLog4 is a time-series database system which was first developed by Hydro-Logic Ltd in The system has since been widely used in the UK as a database for managing data collected by large networks of data loggers and telemetry outstations installed at hydrometric, water resources or wastewater monitoring stations.
